To Tell The Truth

Fiction and nonfiction tell different kinds of stories. For a nonfiction writer, the challenge is to find the story and tell the truth in an interesting way. We’ll brainstorm different types of nonfiction writing, nonfiction subjects and the research that might reveal the hidden story. Students will literally sort subject areas and generate ideas for organizing information. We’ll also talk about the writing process and ways to share true stories, including family albums, newspaper articles and books.
